Encouraging church development
In the U.S., I’ve seen a renewal, it would appear, in the preaching schools as well as an investment by congregations in encouraging youth toward preaching. I would hope that there’d be emphasis in evangelism in all that, but this trend encourages me, because the graduates don’t come out burdened with debt, they study the Bible intensely, they tend to be stronger in conviction and the preaching schools are outproducing (anybody have stats?) the Christian universities, many of which have lost their way. There are some tweaks I’d like to see, but overall it’s a good picture.

Our new preacher got his B.S. at FHU and then went on to MSOP. I’ve heard of others doing the same, taking advantage of both resources.

Another sign of the growing importance of preaching schools, Laura, at least, to my mind. They used to do the opposite, go to a preaching school and then to a Christian college.
