Where Did I Get My Given Name
In response to yesterdays Daily Nudge, which I did not find time to be on the puter much, I was given the name James from my Uncle James. He was name as my godfather. He did his part in that capacity, although I learned some things my Mother did not like at all. I go by Jim as James is sophisticated and Jimmy is more or less youngish. At least that is the way I felt about it. My sister still calls me Jimmy or James. As you will see, I use the monochure of jimnewy in the internet world. It is a combination od the two nicknames Jim and one my MIL used to call me, Newy. A long time ago I used my given and last name, Jim Newsted as a Word Press user name for access to the preacherfiles forum, and I tried use it and add the fellowship room to it, but it didn’t want to let me, some I just created another account using jimnewy.

Well, my dear namesake, the PF forum is hosted privately and it’s different software, so that’s why WP.com wouldn’t let you acess The Fellowship Room. Even if it had been a blog on PF, wouldn’t have worked, even though it’s the same software.
There is the Open ID that’s growing in acceptance, to have a single username everywhere, but I don’t know if WP allows that or not.

Well, James, I figured that out when I tried to add my preachersfiles blog to the same dashboard as TFR so I would not have to logout of one and login to the other. That is why I had to use a different username. I don’t know about open id and a single username. I use RoboForm that encrypts all the information because I use different names and passwords. I can’t remember them all. The software creates a toolbar. When you go to a site, you hold your mouse over the site name and click on “fill form” or “fill and submit”, Wallah! I am there. I can also use the logins list like a bookmark file. Just click on the website I want and it logs me in automatically when the site and login prompt comes up. An old man with a sometimes muddled minds needs this kind of help.
