One hundred pound weight lifted

Yesterday afternoon Harry Adkison, preacher at the Samson, AL church, was eating in Hall’s Oyster Bar, Geneva, when Mike Ezell, a local jeweler and long-time friend, came in and sat down beside him. Mike mentioned that he was glad to see Harry and  that he had wanted to talk to him about something a long time. Mike said he wanted to be baptized. Harry suggested they do it immediately and he agreed to meet at 2:00 o’clock. Harry carried him to the  Geneva church building and baptized him into Christ. The joy Mike Ezell shared after his baptism must be passed on. Mike said he felt like a 100-pound load was lifted off his back. He said “I’ve been wanting to do that 5-10 years.” Mike had known what he needed to do for a long time, yet he put it off. He related how he went to worship, but felt uncomfortable when he went into the church building. That feeling should be gone forever now. Not only was Mike and those with him rejoicing yesterday, but also the angels in heaven.
