God is righteous! That means He always does the right thing. Here on earth men do not always do the right thing. When I see a criminal get off scott-free because of some legal loophole, my blood boils. When I see someone punished for some trumped-up charge, I am angry. When someone is excluded because of contrived technicalities, I am not pleased. However, when the final judgment comes, I am confident that all will be done right. God “desires all men to be saved”, 1 Tim 2:4. In view of that, I do not believe a technicality will exclude a good-hearted Christian. Since God knows the heart and I do not, I will delay my own judgments on those tough cases until it becomes evident on the final day.
