    A Good Idea

One of the great things about Jeremiah is how the Lord God instructed him to deliver lessons using everyday things.

An example of this is Jeremiah 13. God asks Jeremiah to buy and bury a linen loincloth, remove it from its pit and show how useless it had become. By its continued sin, Judah has become useless to God. Judah had been God’s possession to show his glory, but now it had become spoiled.

God then asks Jeremiah to tell them, “Every jug is to be filed with wine,” (Jeremiah 13:12 NASB). Judah smirked back saying, “Tell us something we don’t know.” The figure was designed to show how Judah was like stumbling, bumbling drunks who didn’t realize how foolish they were.

God tells Judah, “’Thus says the LORD, ”Behold I am about fill all the inhabitants of this land ― the priests, the prophets and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem ― with drunkenness! I will dash them against each other both the fathers and the sons together,’ declares the LORD,” (Jeremiah 13:13-14a NASB).

The same can be true of us if we become useless, and are not glorifying God, sharing his gospel and have turned a blind eye to sin.

God gives all a chance to repent. Here’s a good idea: let’s take that opportunity and obey God today.

    God’s Work Continues?

Here’s a site I found today while scanning some Twitter posts. This gives us an idea of what the Lord’s church is up against in foreign countries (as well as our own country).

Here is an interdenominational mission agency in Thailand that is promoting the idea that baptism is not a part of the conversion process, but is simply an afterthought, i.e. “if you want to” (note the last paragraph).

This is why I added a question mark to the title of this article. Is God’s work really “continuing” with the promotion of this false teaching?

The devil is still hard at work deceiving folks (Revelation 12:9)..

    Organizing Myself

How do I organize myself? Usually through the use of lists written on a 3×5 sheet of lined paper that I carry with me. Grocery lists and lists of the daily classes coming into a school library, are usually pretty detailed lists. Plus, if I get an idea for a blog article, I can quickly write it down before I forget it! :)

To swear off making mistakes is very easy. All you have to do is swear off having ideas.

    All-in-One Sunday

At Winchester four times a year we have All-in-one Sunday. Bible study, worship, fellowship dinner, a shortened worship and no PM service. Since we no longer have gospel meetings, we invite a guest speaker for these All-In-Ones and the spring one is also Friends & Family Day and the Autumn one is Youth Emphasis day.

When do I grow the most spiritually? When I’m teaching a Bible class where members can freely discuss the topic that is being presented from God’s word. Many times, members of the class have brought up thoughts and ideas that I never thought of in my study of the topic.

The Bible class teacher always benefits the most, not only from his or her study of the Bible, but from the input of other members as well. I grow spiritually, when members of the class offer their good wisdom and insight into the Word.
