We have a very, very dear friend who is a Christian and we love and respect him very much. When he was young he was very poor but he worked very hard and determined that he would not remain poor but would provide a much better life for his family. He has done that, becoming very wealthy. Whatever he wanted he has obtained. When he gave directions he expected them to be followed and they were.
Now, he has cancer. If any man had the power to say to cancer “Get way! Leave me alone and stay out of my life” he would have been that person. But, he couldn’t do that. He was not in control. He has had surgery and now faces some difficult times in rehabilitation and hopefully returning to better health to some degree.
What do we do when we encounter an uncontrollable situation? What do we do when we have to admit that we aren’t in charge any longer and something much bigger and stronger than we are has taken control of our life? I suggest that we read and study JAMES 4:13-15. James helps us to get a real perspective on life. There comes the time when we just have to say, “I am not in charge. I cannot control things any longer. Therefore, I completely submit myself to God and His will for me.”
Why don’t we make that commitment right now? Why wait until we cannot control things any longer? Life will be richer, fuller, more enjoyable, and more pleasant if we will surrender our life to Him every day of our life.
May God bless you this week with good health, happiness, and a stronger faith in Him.
